The inside of the chain-strap bag is made with a local weave and is as compact as a clutch. Its tin can exterior harks back to Andy Warhol's method of elevating everyday objects into pop art.
These handmade bags carry the work of the Paete Artisans, Bulacan Bag Artisans and Weavers of Abra. Thirty-percet of the proceeds of this bag will go to the 24 artisans of Marikina and Paete along with a gift basket, just in time for the holidays.
Zarah Juan is a social and cultural enterprise that works with different local artisans to support the livelihood in their communities. The collaboration of the brand with Ligo Sardines is an idea of hope in looking back to the past in order to seize the treasures of the present.
The bag is selling for P9,500 and can be purchased on her website, zarahjuan.com. Each of the 24 limited edition bags comes with a limited edition can of Ligo Sardines designed by Zarah as well.
