It goes without saying that an engagement ring deserves the utmost care and protection. Steep price tags aside, these sparklers also carry a lot of sentimental value and serve as a symbol of commitment. 

Still, that doesn't change the fact that many engagement rings end up getting misplaced, even when they're owned by style stars with opulent jewelry collections. Take it from Dr. Vicki Belo, who recently admitted that she nearly lost the engagement ring she received from her husband Dr. Hayden Kho Jr.

"Si Hayden kasi, nag-propose sa'kin, binigyan ako ng engagement ring. Hindi ako mahilig gumamit ng ring because I have ugly hands and I lose stuff all the time, so I never used it," she revealed in her latest YouTube vlog featuring Julia Barretto. "Akala niya it's because napapangitan ako. When we got married [in France], he said, 'Can you come down to Graff?' When I got there, he was kneeling down." 

"He goes, 'I'm giving you a new engagement ring. It's beautiful, it's from Graff,'" she recalled. Dr. Vicki explained to Hayden that she didn't want to risk losing the ring at work, but he apparently insisted and said, "I don't care if you lose it. I want you to use it." 

Afterwards, the celebrity dermatologist began wearing the ring every day. Three weeks later, she had to take off the ring for a painting activity at the school of her daughter Scarlet Snow Belo. "[Scarlet and I] went [to Parents Day] and then it was finger-painting. I had no yaya there inside and may apron si Scarlet na may pocket. And I said, 'Scarlet, here's my ring, okay? I'll put it in your pocket and then you remind me later I have my ring in your pocket, okay?'" she explained.

Unfortunately, both Scarlet and Dr. Vicki completely forgot about the ring following the event, and Dr. Vicki only realized that it was missing two hours after she left Scarlet's school. "I had to go to the dentist at 12 and then Hayden came, but I forgot the ring," she shared. "And then I remembered it was in the school of Scarlet in her apron. So I was scared that they washed the aprons and then pumunta na 'yung ring sa lababo." 

Convinced that it was already gone, Dr. Vicki immediately called the school in a panic to ask about where the aprons were placed. "Tawag ako, nanginginig," she narrated. "They said [the aprons] are in the lababo pa."

To her relief, the ring was still in Scarlet's apron by the time she got back. Moving forward, though, she and Hayden agreed to just keep the ring at home to prevent another accident! "I got there, I was able to get the ring. Then Hayden told me don't wear the ring na so I don't wear it anymore," she concluded. 

Back in 2017, Vicki first posted a photo of the said engagement ring by Graff. While she didn't disclose any details about the rock, fans speculated that the ring had an emerald cut diamond with a weight of 2.35 carats. Price points vary on Graff's official website, but they can be valued at nearly P10 million!
