In case you missed it, Vanessa Hudgens is in town to film a documentary where she journeys to discover her Filipino roots. It’s only been a few days since her arrival but she’s already making waves, starting with her new title as the Philippines’ global tourism ambassador. She has been marking such momentous occasions with appropriately stylish outfits.
For her courtesy call with the President last March 30, 2023, the Filipino-American actress came dressed in a custom terno by Patty Ang. The champagne-colored Filipiniana was in the form of a classic terno silhouette befitting the formal event. It featured floral appliqués trailing the bodice for a romantic touch that also flattered her figure. Styled by Liz Uy, the midi-cut dress was paired with white open-toed stilettos.
As for the press lunch that happened the next day, Vanessa turned up in a more relaxed outfit that wasn’t any less sophisticated. Another Patty Ang creation, the ivory pantsuit felt fresh and modern in a slightly oversized fit, boxy shoulders, and pearl accents, perhaps as a nod to the Philippines being the Pearl of the Orient. This was accessorized with a diamond choker necklace and matching white minaudière from Neil Felipp.
With Vanessa’s documentary set to be filmed in Manila and Palawan, we’re sure this newly appointed tourism ambassador will be waving the Philippine flag in more outfits that will represent this country’s rich culture and fashion design talent.
