The Top 5 Fashion Trends to Look Forward to in 2025, According to Stylists
Westernwear
“I think cowboy and boho aesthetic will be significant this year,” BINI’s head stylist and visual director Ica Villanueva asserts. While every fashion girl has already likely added cowboy boots to their footwear rotation (and their Pinterest boards!), this year, we’ll see westernwear elements injected more into the mainstream. Think bootcut jeans, plain and plaid button-down shirts, eye-catching belt buckles, buckskin leathers, and the cowboy fringe.

“[I’m] really looking forward to seeing everyone wearing suede (jackets, bags, shoes, everything!),” celebrity stylist Myrrh Lao To says, referencing typical Wild West garb that also pulls elements from traditional Plains Indian clothing. “Also, fringes on everything,” Bianca Umali's go-to stylist John Paul Dizon adds.

Boho Chic
Fringe and suede also cross over to the second aesthetic that Ica called: boho chic. There really is no slowing down this trend. Taking over runways and our feeds, its eclectic, laid-back approach to dressing gets a luxurious spin with the elevated elegance of earth tones, natural textures, and handcrafted details.

Central to this aesthetic is layering. “This is probably my favorite styling technique,” John Paul shares, “When you know how to layer well, you can transform the look of even old clothes. Investing in the right layering pieces is key.” Whether mixing patterns, contrasting fabrics, or stacking jewelry, more is more with this trend.

It’s also the perfect excuse to inject browns, which John Paul also thinks will dominate this year, and its feistier vermillion sister. “Burgundy, maroon, oxblood, wine—call it what you want, but the 'new neutral' deep red color had a big moment in 2024. I look forward to its impact carrying over to this year, particularly in bags,” Melville Sy of Studio 24C shares.

Powdery Pastels
Speaking of new neutrals, Studio 24.C’s Maita Baello reveals she's stepping out of her comfort zone and gearing up for powdery pastels. “Think icy blue and ballerina pink,” she notes. Myrrh also points out shades of yellow being big in 2025, and a delicate buttery hue is something that falls right into this pastel spectrum.

While burgundy took its claim as the “new neutral” last fall, powdery pink is in position to bloom into this title come spring and beyond. “Powder pink is 2025’s new neutral—get ready to blush all season long!,” Team Rain X Em's Rain Dagala quips. “Pink remains a dominant force in fashion, evolving into a more subdued and sophisticated powder pink for 2025. Recently seen on the runways of Miu Miu, Alaïa, Brandon Maxwell, and Chanel, this hue offers a fresh, romantic alternative to burgundy for spring.”

“I personally wear a lot of neutrals but this trend is a refreshing break from all that. You can wear it as an accent if you’re not too keen on a monochromatic look,” Maita advises. "Paired with whites or unexpected shades such as purple, gray, navy, butter yellow, and pistachio, it promises to be a versatile and elegant staple in the upcoming year’s palette," Rain appends.

Chunky Accessories
Dainty hues may be taking center stage, but the same can't be said about accessories—bold and chunky trinkets are stealing the spotlight. “I think 2025 is going to be a year for cuffs and bangles which we saw a lot of on S/S 2025 runways, as well as more sculptural pieces like Bottega Veneta’s drop stud earrings."

Though Steph Aparici sees timelessness remaining as a beacon for dressing in 2025, she agrees that accessorizing is essential."While the base wardrobe remains classic, adding accessories like structured bags, large sunglasses, sculpted oversized jewelry, and a girl's best friend—diamonds—will always be a staple."

Individualism
But, at the end of the day, your fashion story will always be about you. "I think that individualism will always be a trend," Justine Aliman observes. "That’s why the resurgence of fashion inspired by K-dramas will still be a hit, because even in the West like the United States, fashion is going East."
"Microtrends come and go every year or season, but it’s still important that we have our own personal style," Steph comments. "I am looking forward to seeing classic looks being played around with more and being more creative with this 2025."

Ica agrees with this sentiment sharing that "I'm excited to see more people getting creative and fearless in mixing and matching trends to fit their unique personalities and making [trends] their own. For example, sporty athleisure paired with feminine pieces, or even excessorizing it."
For John Paul, this notion includes shamelessly embracing personal favorites in your LOTDs—whether it's Carrie Bradshaw's iconic tutu skirt, donning dresses over pants, or shopping the other sex's clothing department.

"Actually, what I am more excited about is whether what is forecasted in fashion will be actualized not only in terms of what we will be seeing in the retail market but rather what we will be able to see in the streets worn by each individual stratified in demographics according to age, gender and social class," Justine concludes.
We honestly can't wait to see how this sartorial year unfolds!
