Taking the stage to present the best actor in a comedy series, Meryl casually tells the audience she had forgotten the envelope and her glasses. Anne and Emily then proceeded to follow her onstage, handing her the missing items and instantly harking back to their iconic characters as Andrea Sachs and Emily Charlton, both assistants to the fictional Runway magazine's ice queen Miranda Priestly.
Emily, looking gorgeous in Louis Vuitton as a best supporting actress nominee at the award ceremony, playfully remarked: “Meryl and Miranda Priestly are sort of like twins,” to which Meryl immediately opposed.
“No no. That wasn’t a question,” Anne cut in, trolling Meryl by referencing one of her famous lines in the film.
As Meryl fumbled with the envelope containing the name of the winner, Emily also took the chance to quote Miranda Priestly. "By all means, move at a glacial pace. You know how much that thrills me," she said, eliciting more laughter from the audience.

For the much-anticipated reunion, the 74-year-old star was definitely in character, clad in a full look from the Italian fashion house.
Meryl was an elegant sight in a sheer amaranth dress embellished with crystal embroidery from Prada's Spring/Summer 2024 runway, paired with a silver clutch also from the luxury brand.

Swathed in a body-hugging dress with an off-the-shoulder neckline adorned with a Bulgari Serpenti necklace, Anne turned heads in an archival Versace creation that was also meant to pay tribute to the iconic 2006 film. "We wanted to take it back and throw a bit of a curveball," Erin Walsh, her stylist, reveals. "How about a little nod of archive cerulean blue Versace on the occasion of her presenting with some old friends?”
Take note: It's not turquoise, it's not lapis, it's actually cerulean.
