Former Hermès artistic director Christophe Lemaire is bringing his ‘effortless luxury’ aesthetic into the everyday wear of Uniqlo. Although he bid adieu to the luxury brand with his S/S 2015 collection, he continues his chic designs in his own line: Lemaire.
Along with his co-designer, Sarah-Linh Tran, the duo’s ‘sensual understatement’ style is translated into cozy knitwear for their Uniqlo collection. According to Style.com, the concept is “the contrast of in and out, of home-wear and outerwear”. Lemaire says, “Basic is an overused term in fashion, but at the end of the day, it’s quite true, quite right.”
