How to Wear Oversized Clothing for Fall, According to Sofia Andres' Madrid OOTDs

1. Pick which area you want to emphasize.

If you want to dip a toe in the trend, start off small and go for an oversized item on top or the bottom half of your outfit. In Sofia's case, instead of close-fitting jeans she opted for a relaxed pair of denims and paired them with a fitted zip-up Tory Burch long-sleeved top. To complete the oversized vibe, she wore a pair of chunky loafers also from Tori Burch.

2. Create a waist.

Going for shorter outerwear with an oversized feel? Avoid drowning in fabric and pick something that ends right at your jeans' waistline to show off your middle section and elongate your legs. To make your gams even more endless, choose heeled footwear with a pointed toe for an elegant touch.

3. Wear at least one fitted item of clothing.

A bulky coat can be daunting to wear, especially for shorter women. But as Sofia demonstrates, the right combination of proportions can make or break your outfit. Here, she wears an oversized leather coat and roomy jeans but went for a fitted top underneath to offset the larger pieces.

4. Add in a texture or two.

With this look, Sofia plays with proportions and texture for a visually interesting outfit. She wore a playful, oversized Lacoste sweater and paired it with light-wash denim. To add some texture, she donned a woven leather Bottega Veneta Jodie bag and a knit houndstooth scarf for extra coziness.
