On August 4, Sunday, P-pop sensation SB19 set the stage ablaze during the Acer Day 2024 festivities as its brand ambassadors. Held at the Mall of Asia Arena, the five-member group performed their chart-topping hits while donning moss-colored ensembles, all meticulously crafted by Filipino designer Neric Beltran.

In an Instagram post, Team Rain X Em, the group's styling team, revealed that Acer Philippines prompted them to embody their vision of the future through fashion. "And for us, it's all about sustainability and innovation," the stylists wrote. To bring the concept to life, the team tapped Neric to design the custom outfits for the boy band.
Sustainability was at the very heart of the design process. "Our looks are crafted with intention, using recycled materials to embody our commitment," Team Rain x Em affirmed through the post.

How Neric Beltran Created SB19's Custom Outfits for Acer Day 2024
In an interview with Preview, Neric shared that Rain Dagala, the chief fashion stylist of Team Rain x Em, proposed having "melting metal oozing out of the garments." Hence, to fully realize the vision, Neric turned to upcycled water bottles, scrap fabric, and loose beads–materials that he regularly keeps in store at his atelier.

Notably, a standout feature of the outfits was the inventive use of plastic bottles to create metallic embellishments. To achieve the high-shine finish, Neric first flattened the plastic bottles into sheets, from which he cut out patterns. "We then buffed the edges for a smooth finish, spray-painted them silver, and added silver leaf for extra sheen," he explained.

Additionally, Neric also incorporated mesh and net fabric to add textured accents. "We applied heat to the mesh and net fabrics for texture, fused everything onto the garments, and added sparkles to enhance the third treatment," he added.

All in all, Neric completed all five looks, including fittings and finishing touches, in less than a week. "Overall, we enjoyed the handcrafting process involved in making the [pieces], which is always practiced here in our atelier," Neric concluded.
