After its resounding success during the Cinemalaya Film Festival last August, Balota is set to make another round in cinemas this October. Last Friday, October 11, the film's cast and crew gathered in Quezon City for a special second premiere.

Aside from its lead star Marian Rivera, who was heavily lauded for her lead role as Teacher Emmy, supporting actress Sassa Gurl also graced the event. As expected, our mima didn't miss the chance to turn heads, arriving in a look that made quite the timely statement.

Styled by Ian Rey, Sassa donned a two-piece ensemble comprised of what seems to be banknotes. Zoom in and you'll notice that the orange and blue bills actually feature the internet sensation's face. In fact, one of her portraits used for the 1,000-peso bill was from our June 2022 cover shootEach customized note, designed by Eitan Cosmo, served as the textile of the East of Eden look.

More than just a scene-stealing moment, the look was inspired by Balota's story arc, which tackled vote-buying during election season. In the film, Sassa and her co-star Esnyr play two townspeople with opposing political views.
