Kim Ji Won’s character in Queen of Tears, Hong Hae-in, boasts a wardrobe full of designer ensembles. Given her status as a chaebol heiress, it comes as no surprise that she keeps a fashionable streak in each episode.
However, a recent episode of the K-drama became the talk of the internet after viewers spotted a jarringly different label. In one scene, Hae-in is spotted wearing a cap with the label “Eline” instead of the designer brand Celine!

The so-called boo-boo had netizens theorizing if the character wore a counterfeit version of the popular baseball cap, which seemed out of place with Hae-in's track record. Below, see what viewers have to say about the scene!

At the tail end of episode nine, Hae-in donned a more casual ensemble for a trip to the hospital, which consisted of a white tee and a pair of jeans, topped off with a black blazer. To keep herself incognito, the chaebol accessorized with a black face mask and a baseball cap, embroidered with the label “Eline.”
Users on the internet noticed the odd label, which resulted in some hilarity.

Meanwhile, others theorized that the “counterfeit” cap was an intentional choice, given that at that point of the story, Hae-in was living a more modest life.

However, some chalked it up to the production veering away from promoting the brand. While Hae-in has worn Celine pieces in the show, the label may be too overt compared to previous items. Censoring brands isn’t a far-fetched consideration after all, as the same episode had changed Google into “Geegle.” A netizen also pointed out a previous case in Fight for My Way, where Dior turned into “Dio”!

The actual Celine baseball cap has been a favorite among celebrities, both with Korean and Filipino style stars. Spotted in the Spring/Summer 2021 showcase in Monaco, the casual hat hits the balance between practicality and a dose of chic with its recognizable embroidered “Celine” typography. No wonder it’s so iconic!
