Since its inception in 1995, Preview has been committed to championing Filipino talent in the local fashion scene. Nearly three decades and a shift to digital later, the publication remains steadfast in championing this cause.
In 2023, Preview launched its inaugural batch of Best Filipino Fashion Designers (BFFD). This year, the tradition continues with a new roster of five exceptional Filipino designers. Each honoree brings a unique approach to style, making this year’s selection a vibrant showcase of the many facets of Philippine fashion.

At the event, held at the Marriott Grand Ballroom at Newport World Resorts, each designer showcased a custom look, worn by their muse for the night. These designs were made exclusively for the occasion, highlighting the grandeur of the evening.Following the showcase, the designers took the stage to formally receive their plaques and grants.

During a brief interview, the honorees expressed similar sentiments of gratitude. "I’m thankful that people appreciate the work we do," shared Joseph Bagasao, creative director of BAGASÁO. He emphasized that the award also shines a light on those who have supported him throughout his journey. "I think [the award] is more about the people who helped me from the beginning. At the end of the day, I’m a channel of their goodness," Joseph added.

For Rik Rasos of Proudrace, the recognition is the fruit of years of hard work since the brand’s beginnings. "I feel like now, the award just feels more relevant to me. I wouldn't say it's validation, but it’s more of appreciation [of the work that I do]," he explained.

Meanwhile, Gabbie Sarenas expressed how she was pleasantly surprised to be awarded alongside a diverse roster of designers "Each one of us is striving for excellence in that manner, na we all want to elevate Filipino fashion in our own specific way through our own authenticity, our own voices."

In support of their work as Filipino fashion designers, each awardee was given a grant worth P100,000. The honorees were handed their awards by Preview's Creative Director Bacs Arcebal and Summit Media's General Manager for Online Anne Christine Sandejas.

Congratulations to this year's BFFD honorees!
