In a sartorial sense, 2023 would be pretty difficult to sum up. Over the past 12 months or so, several trends helped us put together our OOTDs. It wouldn't be farfetched for the average stylista to have the daintiest ballet flats sitting beside a retro-tastic pair of Adidas Sambas in her closet.
As a publication that's dedicated to discovering, celebrating, and writing narratives of all kinds, Preview has made it a point to showcase just how multi-faceted the world of fashion has become. It's anything but black and white, and it doesn't come with any price tags attached. The best way to exhibit such diversity was through our monthly covers, which starred stylish personalities that, like all of us, had stories to tell.
Ahead, take a look back at our covers this 2023, and the inimitable stars that fronted them. Fair warning: It'll be pretty hard to pick a favorite!
Alodia Gosiengfiao for January 2023
We dove into the new year with Alodia Gosiengfiao. Before she walked down the aisle last February, the Queen of Cosplay reflected on her trailblazing career and what it took for her to reach this stage in her life. Submerged in the waters of Vivere Azure in Batangas, Alodia was a goddess among men, and Colin Dancel had no problem capturing her aura.

Atasha Muhlach for February 2023
Joined by professional players from the National Rugby team, Atasha Muhlach made her Preview cover debut in athletic-chic looks from Gucci. Only a couple of months after her appearance at the ultra-prestigious Le Bal des Debutantes, the budding it girl candidly talked about her upbringing and the goals she has for herself.

Catriona Gray for March 2023
With the most exquisite Bulgari jewelry adorning her, Catriona Gray had her head in the clouds—literally! We took to the skies with Renzo Navarro as the beauty queen-turned-singer discussed her ascent post-Miss Universe. Teamed with her designer accessories were chic, vintage-inspired looks by Chris Nick, Fendi, Carolina Herrera, and Prada.

Liza Soberano for April 2023
Liza Soberano was reborn, reimagined, redefined in a three-part cover executed in collaboration with Maya. Photographer duo Cenon at Mav aided in ushering in the renewed version of the actress as she worked her stuff in contemporary layouts, rocking vibrant shades of green in each look.

Ria Atayde for May 2023
It was a hot girl summer with actress and calendar girl Ria Atayde. Repping for all of the curvy ladies out there, she basked in the sun of El Nido, Palawan whilst Borgy Angeles clicked away at his camera. Local designers Neric Beltran, Killjoy Studios, and Bonita Peneranda dressed Ria in sexy ensembles, which were accessorized with key pieces from Loewe.

The "Femme-pire" for June 2023
This Pride Month issue was more than just a cover—it was a movement. 19 brave, bold, and beautiful transgender women and femme non-binary individuals shared their stories as we held a barangay party of our own. Thanks to the incredible production design by Rocketsets, combined with the unparalleled vision of Cenon at Mav, the Femme-pire was born. And yes, in case you're still wondering, that three-storey house was totally real! It served as proof that making an immeasurable impact does indeed take a village.

Andrea Brillantes for July 2023
Andrea Brillantes is certainly all grown up. Amidst the chatter about her personal life, the Gen Z superstar has remained unfazed and is adamant about living her best life. Josh Tolentino captured this dream-like state as Andrea, a.k.a. Blythe, lounged in a moody floral landscape brought to life by Ginger Events Styling.

Maja Salvador for August 2023
Wedding bells finally rang for Maja Salvador this 2023. Before she flew to Bali for her scenic destination wedding, the bride-to-be strolled through Legazpi Village in front of Preview Creative 25 honoree Andrea Genota's camera. She wore romantic ensembles from Carolina Herrera, Dion Lee, and Tory Burch with casual kicks and denim, radiating an endearing energy we've come to love about her.

Julia Barretto for September 2023
As Preview entered a new era, Julia Barretto returned to our cover, a full decade since her first appearance. Cenon at Mav once again painted a surreal scene with the actress at the center, donning stunning creations by our inaugural Best Filipino Fashion Designers awardees. Alongside dancers from Ballet Philippines, and with movement direction from Madge Reyes, Julia was defying gravity and reaching for the stars.

David Licauco for October 2023
It was prime time for Maria Clara at Ibarra breakout star and new-generation matinee idol David Licauco. While it's rare that a guy appears solo on our covers, the GMA actor effortlessly worked his charm in front of Renzo Navarro's lenses. Dressed in formal outfits from Boss, Prada, and Calvin Klein, and with the most adorable Thom Browne Hector bag in hand, David was the most dashing office worker stuck in rush hour.

Kathryn Bernardo for November 2023
A "good girl" no more, Preview cover veteran Kathryn Bernardo posed for what was arguably her most daring shoot to date. Working with her go-to photographer and confidante Charima Lico, Kath proved that she's never, ever been afraid to experiment, in terms of her career and with her life. Putting her own spin on the Gen X Soft Club aesthetic, the actress was her most authentic self—and she looked damn good doing it.

Kaila Estrada for December 2023
We ride into the horizon with Kaila Estrada, who burst into the scene with her breathtaking performances in Linlang and Can't Buy Me Love. The actress got real about how she found her footing in show biz and why she doesn't want to be just another "nepo baby." Borgy Angeles perfectly captured the 27-year-old's cool and collected aura, showcasing why she is, in fact, the dark horse of her generation.
