Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach is officially a married woman! The beauty queen secretly tied the knot with Jeremy Jauncey last March on a private island in Seychelles, and they made the big revelation to their Instagram followers last Friday, May 5, 2023. Naturally, we couldn't help but swoon over her wedding gown, which was apparently designed by her friend and trusted designer, Bessie Besana.

The local designer spilled the deets on Pia's wedding dress in an Instagram post earlier today, noting how the process of creating Pia's wedding gown was a smooth one, as the beauty queen gave her complete trust and freedom to come up with the perfect design. "Most brides will have an idea of how they imagine their wedding dress to be since they were a young girl, but what is interesting about the conceptualization on Pia’s dress is that she asked Jeremy about how he envisions his bride as she 'walks down the aisle,'" Bessie wrote.
Accordingly, Jeremy envisioned Pia wearing a classic corseted bodice with a soft texture and a slit. "At first, Pia and I were a bit surprised about the idea of a slit. Pia even asked me, 'Pwede ba sa wedding gown ang may slit?' I told her that in this day and age, and with their ceremony to be held on a beach, we can definitely include a slit in the dress," Bessie said.
The designer implemented Jeremy’s vision using soft Chantilly lace, which he manipulated to achieve a skin tone shade. He was also inspired by Pia’s idea of soft movements and found a three-dimensional petal detail which he attached individually to the dress. The asymmetrical pattern moving upward is his personal interpretation of how life has brought Pia through many challenges and eventually found her forever with Jeremy. The dress also features a play on the back skirt with panels, godet and appliqués. As a request, Pia wanted a sleek skirt silhouette in the front but with a bit of drama at the back.
"I have worked with so many brides to know that choosing your wedding dress designer is a big decision to make, and all the more to dress Pia on such a big milestone in her personal life," Bessie shared. "Pia, you are truly a great person and I am eternally grateful for how much you have impacted my life. Thank you for always believing in me and my craft of fashion."
Bessie and Pia have been friends for a long time, and it was a touching moment for him when Pia asked him to design her wedding gown. "I admittedly cried a little inside and felt some tears starting to build up at the end of my eyes because I was sincerely touched by her decision," the designer shared. "She wanted it to be done by a friend, and she knew I knew her so much, and she wanted me to be a part of her wedding."
We're absolutely in love with Pia's wedding gown and how it perfectly encapsulates her personality and style. Congratulations to the newlyweds!
