The local fashion scene has gotten a lot more vibrant these past few years, with sartorial initiatives like Bench Fashion Week and BYS Fashion Week shining the spotlight on budding Filipino designers. Next month, fashion lovers and industry professionals alike have another creative affair to look forward to: PHx Fashion Conference 2023.
Now in its fourth year, the three-day event aims to assist fashion designers penetrate the global market through pop-up showrooms, hands-on workshops, and panel discussions. If you’re thinking of participating, keep scrolling down for a comprehensive run-down of PHx Fashion Conference 2023.
What is PHx Fashion Conference?
BAGASÁO designer Seph Bagasao and Basic Movement owner Esme Palaganas first launched PHx Fashion Conference with the support of Art Fair co-founder Trickie Lopa in 2019. Talks of the initiative, however, began as early as 2015, when Tokyo-based fashion consultant Tetta Ortiz Matera invited Japanese designers to have dinner with local creatives.
From there, the PHx Fashion Group recognized a need to make fashion education more accessible within the country. They consequently hosted a series of creative talks over the course of four days at the first-ever PHx Fashion Conference, which featured SoFA Design Institute co-founder Amina Aranaz-Alunan and fashion designer Carl Jan Cruz.
Afterwards, they launched other initiatives to bolster the local fashion industry. Some of their past projects include the PHx Maarte showcase, the PHx Tokyo incubation program, and the Fashion Forward Dialogues online series.
When and Where is PHx Fashion Conference 2023?
For this year, the PHx Fashion Conference will be held on November 18 to 19 at the Ayala Museum in Makati City. There will also be a welcome reception at The Gallery, Greenbelt 5 on November 17. Participants may register for the event via www.phxfashion.org and avail of discounted early-bird tickets until October 31, 2023.

What is PHx Station?
An initiative under the PHx Fashion Conference, PHx Station is a three-month dynamic marketplace featuring collections by local designers. Its first segment will be held from October 20 to November 16 at Greenbelt 5, Makati City.
