Here's how you can master the "no pants look" that cool girls are obsessed with right now.

You've heard of hubadera dressing and braless OOTDs, but have you tried the trending "no pants look" yet?

To be fair, the look is not anything new—but you know how TikTok has a penchant for breathing new life into old trends and sensationalizing them, sometimes even giving them a new viral name (choose a keyword and just add "core"). And if social media is anything to go by, it's safe to say that pants are now optional.

Read on below to know more about the pantless trend and how to pull it off (pun intended).

How Did the "No Pants Look" Become a Trend?

Making a strong case for the pantless trend were runway looks from Fall/Winter 2023. Miu Miu debuted $5,600 embellished panties that sparked a debate among netizens, Coperni sent half-dressed models down the runway in nothing but sheer black tights for bottoms, and Sabato de Sarno's debut collection for Gucci featuring sheer slips and skirts have rendered pants completely useless.

Echoing the no-pants movement were viral paparazzi shots of Kendall Jenner braving a chilly November in nothing but her undies, Calzedonia stockings, and a navy blue Bottega Veneta sweater. Hailey Bieber—who's always been a fateful believer of ditching the pants—has been rocking the look for years, but the model still made headlines when she stepped out on the West Coast sporting a neon green smiley face hoodie with a pair of white socks and sneakers. Shortly after, from Kylie Jenner to Gigi Hadid, it seems like everyone just started to stop wearing pants.

Red carpet and fashion week appearances were quick to catch on, with the likes of Camila Mendes going pants-free at NYFW. The Riverdale star was photographed looking as if she rushed to Coach's Fall 2023 show literally fresh out of the shower, clad in a set of black undergarments and only a leather jacket as her cover-up. "Really into invisible pants this season," she joked on Instagram.

Filipina Celebrities Sporting the "No Pants Look"

Filipina style stars are not ones to shy away from a bold fashion statement, so it's not at all surprising that the trend has been trickling down to our local shores.

Bianca Umali

Preview's 2023 Best Dressed honoree Bianca Umali has been favoring the look as of late, with her chic OOTDs ranging from oversized band tees to boyfriend shirts, all of which are notably missing a pair of bottoms.

Pia Wurtzbach

Making her debut at Milan Fashion Week, Pia Wurtzbach's edgy all-black look that had us swooning was comprised of tall knee-high boots and an oversized sweater that gave her the perfect opportunity to boycott a pair of pants.

Anne Curtis

Meanwhile, in Manila, the perpetually well-dressed Anne Curtis attended the opening of Gentle Monster wearing a boxy striped blazer, some sheer hosiery, and pointy-toed slingback pumps. You guessed it—she ditched the bottoms, too!

How to Achieve the "No Pants Look"

When it comes to nailing the pantless trend, it's all about striking a balance.

With the absence of bottoms, the upper half is better off with some modest coverage. Take cues from the chunky cableknit sweater swathing Kendall Jenner in her paparazzi-shot Bottega Veneta campaign or the dark moto jacket that kept Camila from freezing in the dead of winter.

Be strategic with your choice of footwear.

Unless you're planning to sport the no pants look while safely tucked into bed, then choosing the right pair of footwear matters. Knee-high boots would give you ample coverage to offset your skin-baring bottoms (or lack thereof). Alternately, consider wearing sheer tights with pumps or ankle socks with sneakers.
