Weeks after officially concluding her Miss Universe journey, Michelle Dee continues to uphold her advocacy for Philippine culture. Besides training with the Philippine Air Force and paying tribute to Apo Whang-Od in her evening gown, the morena beauty also recently became the newest ambassador of the country's Department of Tourism. Over the weekend, Michelle posted photos from her courtesy call at the Department of Tourism office in Makati City. Describing the experience as a "full circle moment," Michelle was all smiles as she posed alongside Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco.
"I’ve always been proud to call the Philippines my home and to call myself Pinoy! To be able to work closely with the Department of Tourism to achieve our shared goal of promoting #FILIPINAS is a dream come true," she penned on her Instagram post.
To make the courtesy call even more memorable, she aptly dressed for the occasion in a balintawak dress by Dee Javier. Styled by Ryuji Shiomitsu's team, the piece's pleated muslin material was lined with handwritten verses from Francisco Balagtas' Florante at Laura.
Fun fact: This exact tapered frock was also spotted on the runway of Ternocon 3! Now nearly a year since the competition, the piece continues to make rounds on the internet for its intricacy and elegance.
For that touch of sparkle, Michelle wore the traditional white number with jewelry by LVNA By Drake Dustin and stilettos by Jojo Bragais. The beauty queen's look was then completed with a soft glam makeup look care of Dave Quiambao and soft beach waves courtesy of Nelbert Seboy.
