The Miss Universe Organization announced the good news today, November 24, after revealing that the Filipina beauty queen has earned the most votes for the category on the Choicely app. #DeePaTapos, indeed!
Michelle's dynamic costume, which was designed by Michael Barassi with the intention to promote the country's tourism, features solihiya weaves, the wings of a plane with colors based on the country’s national flag, and the tourism slogan #LoveThePhilippines written on the back. The ensemble is completed by a captain's hat, reminiscent of Michelle's recent completion of Air Force reservist training.
In the recently concluded Miss Universe pageant held in El Salvador last November 19, Michelle finished as one of the Top 10 finalists. The Best National Costume award proves that Michelle, just like what her costume symbolizes, is “resilient, radiant, and ready to embrace the Universe!”
