For chic and timeless staples, you can't go wrong with Max Mara. Established in 1951 by Achille Maramotti, the fashion house remains steadfast in its Italian sensibilities of crafting sophisticated pieces that are characterized by both impeccable silhouettes and graceful femininity.

For their 2024 Spring/Summer offering, Max Mara's Creative Director Ian Griffiths took inspiration from the Land Army, putting his own glamorous spin on utilitarian workwear classics.

LOOK: Max Mara Spring/Summer 2024 Collection
Embracing the call to arms, English women from diverse backgrounds united to cultivate the land and sustain the nation during the 1940s war period. Beyond their agricultural duties, the Land Army fostered a culture of learning and creativity, encouraging its members to explore literary pursuits and contribute to publications like The Land Girl magazine.

A symbol of resilience and resourcefulness, Max Mara pays homage to these women in their latest collection. With designs echoing the practical yet chic workwear of the era, the collection features functional elements, such as capacious pockets and reinforced stitching, seamlessly blended with sophisticated touches like bold floral and soft silk.

From sandy neutrals to vibrant hues reminiscent of cottage garden blooms, each piece embodies a modern interpretation of pastoral elegance tailored for the urban landscape.

What's more, these pieces are now available in Manila! Held in-store last March 18, the collection launch featured two presentations that even included runway looks from Milan Fashion Week.
