Last March 29, the cast of Here Comes the Groom walked the red carpet at SM Megamall for the premiere screening of the film. Maris Racal, who stars in the movie, definitely stole the show with her Barbiecore paper doll dress—and it’s giving camp!

According to her stylist Adrianne Concepcion, the look was actually Maris’ idea, which she worked on with her team to fruition. They were inspired to go camp not only because the movie itself was campy but because of Maris’ adoration for her drag queen co-stars. “It was more of an ode to that but via couture,” said the celebrity stylist.
The paper doll dress was custom made by Filipino designer Marc Rancy. “He used stiff mikado silk to sculpt the front part, and sewed black piping around [the contours of the dress] to mimic the look of hand drawn lines,” continued Adrianne. To complete the look they also added the same black piping detail around Maris’ shoes and to make it even campier, white flaps on the sides of the dress for that full paper doll effect.
Of course, when it came to beauty, they also didn’t forget to go the extra mile. Hairstylist JA Feliciano dressed her in a platinum blonde wig made by Wigs by Margaux, which was seamlessly installed by Jufel Gomez. For her makeup, done by Jay Salcedo, they went for a soft-glam doll-like look.
Of all the fun and quirky pictures taken by Dennis Sulit, this photo of Barbie Maris getting all glammed up by her team might just be our favorite.
You look adorbs, Maris!
