Louis Vuitton has entered the quirky shoe group chat. With several fashion houses like Loewe and Schiaparelli embracing the weird and the wonderful, the French luxury maison has also introduced a particularly eye-catching pair of designer shoes. Debuted at their Fall/Winter 2023 show, Louis Vuitton's new heeled leather boots come with its own pair of socks... and legs!
With the surrealist movement breaching into our wardrobes, by way of ingenious footwear such as MSCHF's Big Red Boots, Louis Vuitton follows suit. Its Trompe-L'oiel or Illusion boots are crafted out of supple calfskin leather and are hand-painted to appear as though they're regular black heels worn with a pair of ribbed white socks. The boot comes in two lengths and two skintone options.
Among the stylistas turning heads in these surrealist steppers was Emma Stone, who strutted in Louis Vuitton's boot du jour during Paris Fashion Week earlier this fall season.
As expected, the internet has been intrigued with LV's latest offering, to say the least. While some find them to be jarring, others are impressed at the creative vision behind them. Talk about walking in someone else's shoes!
