Under the leadership of Jonathan Anderson, Loewe has become very liberal with its quirks and antics. Every season, the fashion house features off-kilter designs that could tickle anyone's sartorial bone. We mean, he has made it known how he likes his eggs—broken and attached to a pair of heels, please.
The creative director seems to draw inspiration from just about anything, even viral internet moments. He recently discovered a post on X, which eventually gave birth to the brand's newest fruity offering.
LOOK: Loewe Releases a Tomato Clutch
Recently, an X user posted photos of an intricate-looking tomato and couldn't help but quip, "This tomato is so Loewe I can't explain it." The post quickly gained attention from fashion enthusiasts, and it now has over 9.4k shares and 99k likes as of writing.

Jonathan saw the post himself and even reposted it on his Instagram. Three days later, he shared a reel of a clutch fashioned after the same tomato.
The exterior of the piece seems to be made out of red leather, with the opening slicing through the middle with gold hardware. The "stem" is also made with gold, and it has the Spanish label's anagram emblazoned up top. It opens up into a yellowish-green cavity. As Jonathan displayed in the video, it fits right in his hand, making it roughly the same size as an actual tomato. Genius!

Netizens React to Loewe's Tomato Clutch
Netizens were impressed by Jonathan's swift reaction to the viral post. Locally, even Anne Curtis, who attended Loewe's Paris Fashion Week show last F/W season, couldn't help but comment. "You say tomato, I say Loewe," another user chimed in.

Naturally, many applauded the designer for quickly riding the post's virality. "The internet might be fast, but Jonathan Anderson is faster," one said.

Other stars, such as Barbie actress Hari Nef and Drag Race winner Shea Coulee, were also amused by the produce-inspired piece. "You are so silly," the former endearingly told Jonathan.

Hilariously, a netizen also pointed out how many Italians will probably love the bag as much as they do the actual fruit. Someone even had the idea for matching basil earrings! Throw in some parmesan and pasta and we'll definitely be cooking something up. LOL!

Plot twist, though: As it turns out, the tomato clutch was actually conceived before the X post went viral. Rachel Tachijan Wise, a fashion writer for The Washington Post, shared that Jonathan actually already had the piece designed for the next season. Talk about uncanny timing!
