"There's a lot of things being said right now about Liza Soberano, but at the end of the day, she is just someone taking charge of her own life—and you have to respect that about her," Preview Editor-in-Chief Marj Ramos-Clemente tells us in this episode of The Making Of. Not only does this "rebranding" come with an edgier wardrobe, it also comes with a bolder and a more unapologetic attitude worthy of a strong and independent woman. "In this month's Preview cover, she is re-introducing Hope to the world and we're very honored to be part of that," Marj adds.
Art Director Bacs Arcebal wanted to celebrate this leveling up with a multiverse concept. "The idea is this to shoot Liza with four completely different looks," he explains that this is in line with Maya's messaging that you can do everything, and is translated to Liza being able to pull off everything and that she can level up in the process. "The idea is that Liza can pull off everything and that she can level up with each layout."
Liza's trusty glam team of makeup artist Robbie Pinera, hairstylist Renz Pangilinan, and her fashion stylist of 10 years Perry Tabora worked their magic to make each look distinct, while Creative 25 2023 honoree Rocket Sets created uniquely different backdrops to enhance each mood. Cenon at Mav then lensed and immortalized this pivotal moment of Liza's evolution. After all, in this universe, Liza is finally taking control and it's her rules that apply.
