Lea Salonga makes history once again! The esteemed Broadway thespian made her way to the White House in Washington D.C., where she repped Philippine talent not only through her rousing performance, but with her sophisticated look of the night.

The 52-year-old performer was among those invited to perform at a recent White House State Dinner with US President Joe Biden, in honor of South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol's official visit and the two countries’ 70-year alliance.
Fit for the momentous black-tie occasion, Lea recruited Filipino fashion design juggernaut Rajo Laurel for a couture creation. The designer outfitted the star in an exquisite black off-shoulder gown, detailed by intricate sequins sewn to its collar down to its skirt.
“My dear friend @msleasalonga making every Filipino proud as she performs for President Biden at the @whitehouse wearing @houseoflaurel #couture [emojis],” Rajo wrote on Instagram, where he shared photos of the historical event.
“Thank you dear friend for constantly being an inspiration to us all!” He added.
Lea was joined by her fellow Broadway performers, such as Tony nominee Norm Lewis and former Wicked cast member Jessica Vosk. The guest list was a star-studded bunch, too, which included Hollywood A-lister Angelina Jolie and her eldest son Maddox Jolie-Pitt.
Congrats, Lea! You make us proud.
