Welcome to Samdal-ri might have just ended (and cinched a top 50 spot in the K-drama list!), but that doesn’t mean things end without a sartorial bang.
In the finale of the healing series, Korean actress Kim Tae Hee makes a much-anticipated special appearance after previously working with the drama’s scriptwriter in 2020’s Hi, Bye Mama! Short as her cameo may have been, the top actress still brought her fashion A-game to the show. Among the scenes sees her in a gorgeous midi dress made by none other than the go-to designer, Filipina Monique Lhuillier.

In the K-drama, fashion photographer Jo Sam Dal (played by Shin Hye Sun) returns to the titular hometown of Samdal-ri, as an incident causes her to lose her job after working eight years as an assistant. While we won’t delve into the nitty-gritty spoilers, the series’ finale shows her get back into the groove of things, with Kim Tae Hee as one of her photography subjects.
The real-life actress makes an appearance as herself, following a brief reference in episode one. In the show-ender, Tae Hee visits the studio of Sam Dal, where she goes in front of the main character’s lens.
For her shoot, Tae Hee changes into a Monique Lhuillier tulle creation. The dainty number, which perfectly encapsulates the designer’s feminine creative ethos, is made in a light blue hue, embroidered by delicate pink petals that are scattered throughout its silhouette.
Favored in red carpet and high-profile events, Monique Lhuillier pieces have adorned many international stars and Korean household names.
