No inclement weather could stop KaladKaren and her husband Luke Wrightson from tying the knot. Reeling from their surprise engagement last July, the couple finally exchanged their "I dos" in North Yorkshire, England. Held at an 18th-century hotel overlooking Robin's Hood Bay, an auspicious fog imparted a fantastical touch to their ceremony.

In an exclusive interview with Preview, Mrs. Wrightson shares the intimate meaning behind her look and her groom's, which were both crafted by Francis Libiran.
KaladKaren Talks About Her Francis Libiran Wedding Dress
For her big day, the news anchor and actress wore a strapless serpentine gown adorned with crystals. Coral appliques lined the bust area, which mimicked the nostalgic fairytale appearance of a mermaid.
"I’ve always been fascinated by mermaids. They are truly magical, mystical, and very feminine characters," she shares. "When I was a child, I remember putting my legs into pillowcases to pretend to have fins!"

KaladKaren goes on, stating that the mermaid silhouette holds such great significance for her that she specifically saved it for her nuptials. "I knew from the start that a mermaid gown would be the silhouette of my dream wedding dress. In fact, I avoid wearing too many mermaid-cut dresses in special events that I attend, even when I'm on Drag Race, because I really reserved it for my wedding."

To craft such a special piece of clothing, KaladKaren tapped celebrated Filipino designer Francis Libiran. "Sir Francis is a genius!" she professes, adding that she's always been a fan of his creativity.
The bride shares that her dress, along with Luke's complementing black-and-white suit, were actually gifts from the designer. "It makes me cry whenever I think about my dress," she gushes, "Grabe magmahal si sir Francis, nakakataba ng puso!"

KaladKaren says that it only took their first meeting for her and Francis to agree on her look. She shares that she was already feeling emotional during their last fitting together. "And when I walked down the aisle and saw Luke, I was crying like crazy," she adds. "My childhood fantasy came to life. It was just perfect."

A big congratulations to you and Luke, Mrs. Jervi Wrightson!
