Fans flocked to the SM Megamall cinemas last night, August 13, as Un/happy for You premiered on the big screen. Directed by Petersen Vargas, the romance-drama reunites real-life exes Julia Barretto and Joshua Garcia in their first project together in four years.
For the special occasion, the two were dressed in subtly coordinated looks made by Filipino designers. Scroll ahead for the details on their red carpet OOTDs!

In line with the film's romantic themes, "JoshLia" incorporated bright shades of red to their respective looks. Julia was a sultry-chic vision in a gown by Ushi Sato, while her leading man looked dapper in a Randolf Clothing suit.
Styled by Team Cath Sobrevega, Julia slipped into a dress with a sheer bustier attached to a gathered floor-length skirt. The devil was in the details with the Ushi Sato piece, with its contrasting straps and floral embroidery imparting interest to the whole look.
Cath shares that they aimed for "something bold, spicy, and sexy" for the big night. The dress was actually intended to mimic the shape of a chili, which is a pivotal element of their movie.
At first glance, Joshua may appear as if he's only wearing a plain black suit, save for the pocket square matching Julia's frock. Though, upon turning around, it's revealed to have a sheer cut-out and embroideries with hidden meanings.
RJ Santos of Randolf tells Preview that they intended to "make the front part simple and [were] more playful [with] the back." By the neck are chilis resembling rays of the sun, which references the cuisine in Albay, Legazpi, the location where Un/happy for You is set. On the sheer panel, meanwhile, are stars dotted in the material. As they say, it was business in the front and party in the back!
Un/happy for You is now showing in cinemas nationwide.
