Kapuso star Jillian Ward turned 18 last February 23, and she celebrated the momentous occasion with a grand debut at Okada Manila!
For her big day, the actress was a vision in a custom, midnight blue Mak Tumang ball gown. The embroidered bodice fanned out into a lavish and layered tulle skirt with a galaxy print that had Jillian looking every bit like the star of the night she was. ICYMI, Jillian wore a similarly-themed Mak Tumang frock for her pre-debut shoot, also curated by celebrity stylist Van Mercado.
To complement her stunning dress, Jillian finished off her look with a pair of bedazzled silver pumps, custom-made by Doreen Odvina.
Among the highlights of the night were the 18 candles and 18 roses customary of the celebration. During the former, her onscreen mother in Abot-Kamay na Pangarap, Carmina Villarroel, gave a touching speech that attested to Jillian’s pleasing character.
“During my seven months working with you, I witnessed a young lady who was very…sinabi ko na sa’yo ‘to ‘di ba? Who was very respectful, hardworking, professional, napakabait na bata, very loving, obedient, lahat na yata ng positive adjectives masasabi ko talaga. Na-witness ko talaga yun during the seven months na nagtrabaho tayo.” Carmina also jokingly coaxed their boss to give the show an extension, which received the cheers of Jillian and the rest of her guests.
Speaking of guests, the birthday girl had a star-studded company of well-wishers, including GMA Sparkle artists Sanya Lopez, Ken Chan, Michael Sager, Caitlyn Stave, Jeff Moses, Jessica Villarubin, and Zephanie. The latter of which even performed a song for Jillian.
Belated happy birthday, Jillian! May all your wishes come true!
