The final ceremony of Miss Universe 2024 may be unfolding in a few days, but a slice of Pinoy pride has already landed on international shores. To mark the winning moment of the pageant, this year’s titleholder will be honored with a prized new gem: the first Filipino-crafted Miss Universe crown by Jewelmer.

As the official crown sponsor of the 73rd Miss Universe competition held in Mexico City, the French-Filipino jewelry brand Jewelmer has offered the first glimpses at the crown that awaits the pageant’s winner.
In an Instagram Reel, the jeweler revealed part of the intricate process behind creating this year’s crown, a collaboration involving Filipino pearl farmers and master craftspeople, using traditional techniques developed at the Place Vendôme in France. With Jewelmer celebrated as the leading cultivator of the rare golden South Sea pearl, the Palawan gem is set to take center stage in the pageant’s crowning moment.
In a press release, Jewelmer states the partnership between them and the Miss Universe organization coincides with the jewelry brand’s 45th anniversary. “As the first Filipino-crafted crown in Miss Universe’s renowned history, Jewelmer is honored to shine the light on the Philippines’ beauty and artistry,” the brand stated.
Jewelmer CEO Jacques Christophe Branellec also took to his personal Instagram page to celebrate the collaboration between the brand and the organization. “From Palawan to the Universe! Off we go to Mexico City to launch the new crown of Ms Universe by @jewelmer!” He wrote. “First time for the Universe to have a crown made in the Philippines adorned by our national gem, the golden south sea pearl! Para sa bayan!”
Jewelmer and the Miss Universe Philippines organization have had a long history together as the local edition’s pearl sponsor in 2022, with then-candidate Celeste Cortesi as the first to wear the La Mer en Majesté crown. It has since been passed on to her successors, including the 2024 Filipina bet Chelsea Manalo.
Jewelmer’s official Miss Universe 2024 crown is slated to be unveiled soon, while the pageant’s crowning ceremony in Arena CDMX in Mexico is set for Nov 17, 2024, Sunday, 10 a.m. Philippine time.
