A stylish gent who's currently on our radar is singer-songwriter Jason Dy. After finishing in first place on The Voice Philippines Season 2, the 33-year-old has sustained a career as one of the country's most talented crooners.
One thing that sets Jason apart from his colleagues is his adventurous sense of style. While the usual staples—a.k.a. tailored suits and fitted tank tops—are part of his wardrobe, they're joined by experimental silhouettes, bolder hues, and occasional sightings of skin. His affinity to fashion reached a summit when he walked for RAFA Worldwide during the recently-concluded BYS Fashion Week.
Even off the runway, the musician makes it a point to champion young Filipino designers. His lookbook is chock-full of local talent, with Jason effortlessly pulling off whatever attire he puts on to belt a tune. Ahead, we run down ten looks of his that proudly rep local style.
LOOK: Jason Dy's OOTDs Made by Local Designers
1. Before RAFA Worldwide's debut show, Jason was already one of the label's OG patrons. The singer rocked a bedazzled pair of jeans from them with a cut-off muscle tee sourced from It's Vintage.
2. Jason seems to be a big fan of jazzed up denim, as exhibited by this OOTD that featured flared patchwork pants. Teamed with the roomy pair of bottoms was a cool reconstructed collared shirt (or should we say shirts?) by Ian Rey.
3. Still on a blue jean kick, the performer stepped on stage in a Ring of Trees bubble vest from Ha.Mu, worn over an all-black mockneck and leather pants.
4. For his birthday photoshoot ths year, Jason modeled this Canadian tuxedo by up-and-coming designer Mikayl Trinidad of Monohomme Studios. We're totally here for the two-toned washes and floral lace panels.
5. Proving that there's more to menswear than the usual black tie, Jason suited up in a corseted navy blue vest by Bonita Peneranda.
6. Another not-so-typical number in his closet is this edgy checkerboard blazer from Kaye Morales. It boasted of sharp shoulder pads and even sharper spikes.
7. For a holiday fete, Jason channeled '70s style in a custom two-piece set by LSW. Amping up the glamor factor were its ostrich feather hems and gold jewelry.
8. A designer who constantly experiments with formalwear is Bon Hansen. Jason donned a deconstructed pinstriped blazer of his with trousers and patent leather shoes.
9. The best way to describe Kill Joy Studios' designs is that it's Filipino streetwear at its most authentic form. For a performance, Jason rocked the brand's Rotonda coords with a pair of chunky sneakers.
10. At an al fresco affair, the 33-year-old stood out in a neon green ensemble handpainted with butterflies by Carlito Baldomero.
