Jasmine Curtis-Smith is someone who understands the wonders of going braless. In an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), she gave her two cents on why doing so continues to be a taboo, and why women prefer foregoing a bra in the first place.

"I guess awkward for many because culturally, we are very conservative," she said. "So losing that layer of what we think is protection or support feels kind of funny at first."
"Kasi nga, parang nakakapanibago. And natatakot tayo, baka may bumakat or baka hindi enough yung support, hindi kakayanin, lalo na for women who have a bit of a bigger breast size," she continued.
Despite these concerns, Jasmine is aware that many ladies share her sentiments about the discomfort of wearing bras. She said, "The padding can be too thick or the underwiring is uncomfortable. So minsan, kapag luma na rin yung bra, or I guess hindi maganda yung quality, tumutusok siya sa skin."
"So hindi rin siya comfortable, lalo na if you want to lie down and lounge for the next 20 minutes, 30 minutes, tatanggalin mo pa, para lang maging komportable ka."
That being said, Jasmine suggested a better alternative to going completely braless: opting for bra tops.
Sharing from experience, the actress said, "I live in my bra tops, I swear!" She explained, "Dati, we would use anything na may type of inside bra for underwear lang. But this one, for us women, you know, we like to be hassle-free. So, this one, no need na to wear a bra. Ito na yung outer garment mo na rin."
Jasmine added, "I think it provides the perfect support, and not just that, but mas comfortable na siya. Yung transition of not wearing a bra, mas smooth na. Hindi mo na tatanggalin, tapos hahanapin mo pa."
