Janine Gutierrez is in her villain era. On ABS-CBN's newest revenge drama Lavender Fields, she plays Iris Benavidez, an heiress who bumps heads with the namesake protagonist played by Jodi Sta. Maria.
During her interview as a Preview Best Dressed 2024 honoree, Janine says that, aside from Iris being her first kontrabida role, she's also her most style-savvy character to date. "Iris is so exciting because her personality as a villain is [the opposite of mine] behind the scenes," she shares. "But one thing we had in common is that she's described as a fashion lover."
With help from her trusted stylist MJ Benitez, as well as the show's wardrobe lead Mervin Lazaro, Janine's OOTDs as Iris began to reflect her feisty personality. "Her style really helped me understand her more as a character," the actress shares. "I got to know her by thinking, 'Would she like this bag? Would she wear this look?'"
