If there's one wardrobe item that demands (relative) comfort and maximum wearability, it's footwear. (Yes, this extends to heels, too—comfy steppers do exist!)
Sadly, the Adidas Samba has reportedly fallen short in this regard, according to influencer Mengyan Yu.
The Chinese content creator took to her TikTok page to review the two pairs of Samba sneakers she recently bought, lamenting that they “cut into her heel.”
"They look super cute, gorgeous, and adorable, but [they're] just not comfortable,” she said.
Netizens in the comment section also noted that the shoe’s stiff collar tended to hurt the heel, highlighting the need for a thick pair of socks. Yikes!

A few days after Yu posted the review, Adidas sent a reply, which she found “disappointing.”
“gotta sacrifice for the look ,” they wrote.
“You are a sports brand, you should be making comfortable shoes for people,” she said. “I was shocked. This is such a bad response.”

Thankfully, more commenters shared their insights on extending the life of the shoe and the comfort of the wearer. Some suggested bending the collar backward to stop it from pressing on the skin, as well as massaging the leather to expedite the break-in process.
Others yet contradicted the review, hailing their Sambas as the most comfortable pair of shoes in their closets. Kathryn Bernardo, for example, has a whole collection!
