Hobo bags are still the sac de jour well into 2025. Taking cues from its equestrian heritage codes, Gucci unveils another supple and practically-sized shoulder bag for its Pre-Fall 2025 lineup. Meet the Gucci Softbit, the must-have carrier of the season—as seen on South Korean and Filipino style stars alike, including Leeseo of IVE and podcast host Ashley Choi, plus actress Janine Gutierrez and beauty queen Pia Wurtzbach-Jauncey.

What Is the Gucci Softbit?
Helmed by then-creative director Sabato De Sarno, Gucci’s Pre-Fall 2025 collection draws from the house’s 1970s aesthetic—a decade defined by eclectic layering, soft fabrics, vibrant prints, and flowing, figure-skimming silhouettes.
During his time with the house, Sabato's vision was marked by a harmony between Gucci's past with contemporary codes, a vision once again realized in the Gucci Softbit.
At the heart of the design is its Half Horsebit hardware—an oversized gold embellishment that reinterprets the brand’s iconic Horsebit motif. First introduced in the 1970s as a decorative element, the Half Horsebit became both a stylistic and functional feature in subsequent decades, persisting until the early 2000s. Now, over 20 years later, it returns as the defining detail of the Softbit.
Crafted from grained calfskin leather, the bag features a triangular hobo silhouette with an open-face closure, secured by the gold magnetic Half Horsebit, a refined accent to the utilitarian tote.
Inside, a spacious microfiber-lined interior houses a detachable leather pouch. According to Gucci’s website, the Softbit can perfectly accommodate an iPhone Pro Max/Plus, AirPods, a long wallet, and a lipstick.
How Much Is the Gucci Softbit?
Available in an array of versatile shades, the Gucci Softbit comes in two sizes: the oversized Maxi and the more compact Medium. According to Gucci Philippines, the former is priced at P213,000, while the latter is valued at P184,000.
Locally, the Softbit will officially launch on April 4 at Gucci’s Greenbelt 4 boutique in Makati City. In the coming weeks, the bag will also arrive at Gucci’s other locations across the Philippines.
The Maxi size
Measuring 18.1 inches wide and 10.2 inches tall, the Maxi Softbit is designed for those who favor an oversized, statement-making silhouette. It comes in five versatile hues: black, white, brown, moss green, and Gucci’s signature Rosso Ancora red.

The Medium size
Smaller in scale yet equally functional, the Medium Softbit is fashioned as a petite top-handle purse. Measuring 10.8 inches in width and 8.3 inches in height, this mini hobo bag easily holds daily essentials, from a phone and wallet to lipstick and AirPods.
Offered in brown, taupe, black, and Rosso Ancora red, the Medium Softbit offers a compact alternative for those who prefer a lighter carrier.
