Wicked has soared to box office success as the highest-grossing film based on a Broadway musical. The 2024 adaptation brings the stage production’s magic to the big screen with enchanting details—right down to the Oz-nians’ outfits, from Shiz University to the Emerald City.
A standout example is Glinda, portrayed by pop star-turned-actress Ariana Grande. From Billie Burke’s portrayal in the 1939 classic The Wizard of Oz to Kristin Chenoweth’s iconic performance on Broadway, Glinda has long been recognized for her feminine and flamboyant style. While many of Ariana’s Glinda costumes are custom-made for the film, fans can add a touch of her sparkle to their own wardrobes—thanks to a dazzling necklace by Swarovski!

With costume designer Paul Tazewell at the helm of the Wicked film’s whimsical wear, Glinda’s ensembles took inspiration from its source material, while keeping a fresh take for the screen. While the Broadway version had Glinda donning blue inside her magical bubble, Ariana’s Glinda was decked out in a voluminous pink-hued gown for her introduction, detailed with more than 20,000 beads manually sewn.
Much of it was inspired by the 1939 film version of The Wizard of Oz, when Billie Burke emerged in a bubble wearing a puffy, flowing gown in a light shade of pink. The film’s copyrights under MGM prevented the Broadway musical from having Glinda don the color, but Wicked reportedly received the green light for a similar palette.
“I was also intent on creating a similar quality of silhouette,” Paul told People. “There’s a fairy princess quality in Ariana as Glinda in that dress. It's sparkly and it is covered with bubble imagery that swirls around her. So it has all of those qualities that are magical and give you that sense of the Good Witch of the North in a very strong way, but it’s re-envisioned, it’s turning it on its head.”
The pink palette is present in Glinda’s wardrobe throughout the film, with accessories that give it an extra flair for the character. Among those spotted is a dainty butterfly charm necklace from Swarovski, which can be spotted clasped on Glinda’s collar during her meeting with Fiyero (Jonathan Bailey).

With Ariana Grande’s status as a brand ambassador for Swarovski, it’s no wonder that the Austrian brand has made its way to the singer’s version of Glinda. In Wicked, the actress can be seen wearing the Lilia necklace, a delicate piece that features crystal pavé butterfly motifs, along with a rhodium-plated chain.
According to the website, the necklace originally retailed for $115 (approximately P6,659). However, stocks are currently limited, as the piece is sold out. Here’s hoping for a little Glinda magic to bring it back to the shelves soon!
