Fauré Le Page goes a long way back in French fashion history and is the standard for the highest French craftsmanship — the brand was founded in 1717 at the time of King Louis XV, first as a leather goods and firearms maker for Europe’s kings and queens and French nobility. From making ceremonial weapons for kings and princes, the leather goods house soon expanded its range to creating luxurious hunting accessories fit for royalty.

The brand only began its foray into fashion in 2009, and in 2011, was acquired by its artistic director, Augustin de Buffévent, spinning its heritage into truly stylish bags and accessories that flaunt its historic écailles scale pattern. Placing a premium on craftsmanship, Fauré Le Page does not follow fashion calendars and focuses on making truly lasting pieces that stand the test of time.

Fauré Le Page’s motto is “armed for seduction,” providing armor on the modern-day battlefield — the streets — with stylish leather pieces. And we could not agree more! The French brand is well-beloved by its fans for its écailles scale motif, a house signature that evokes dragons and mermaids as the seal of warriors. This pattern is handcrafted, before it is waxed and grained.

This signature monogram has earned comparisons with Goyard among bag lovers, thanks to its intricate yet timeless aesthetic. They have also released other variations and limited-edition motifs such as its large-scale monogram, and Blue Saga and Pink Saga Jacquard patterns.
