With the 50th Metro Manila Film Festival on the horizon, stars gathered at the Malacañang Complex for another edition of Konsyerto sa Palasyo. Among the attendees to the concert was My Future You leading lady Francine Diaz, who arrived as a modern-day Filipina muse.

Styled by JRo Alarcio of Qurator Studio, Francine donned designer Daryl Maat's modern interpretation of the baro. The heritage-inspired piece had a 2020s redux care of its youthful cropped silhouette and playful embroidery details. This specific iteration showcases a little girl's day in a flower field, with the sun's rays peeking through a cloud. Too cute!

In an interview with Preview, Daryl says that his Pad Paper line of Filipiniana wear is meant to "reimagine the barong for contemporary wear." He continues that the illustrations were intended to ignite one's own memories of childhood.
"There's an undeniable charm in the uninhibited creativity of children's drawings–the squiggly lines, disproportionate silhouettes, and whimsical color combinations that somehow still manage to capture the essence of a child's imagination," he says.
Francine rocked the butterfly-sleeved top with a pair of loose white jeans and red sandals. She then brushed on her signature rosy glow on and had her tresses tied back in a ponytail.
