1. Lulu Tan-Gan
For her Indigenous Couture Collection, Lulu Tan-Gan reimagines utilitarian wear with Southern tribal aspects in mind. For additional contrast, she also juxtaposes light piña fabric with coarse materials and textured pieces.
2. Renz Reyes
Renz Reyes’ Hortitorture collection exhibits the perfect balance between coquettish femininity and artistic flair. Navigating horticultural inspiration, the contemporary womenswear lineup is brimming with intricately embroidered pieces in neutral hues.
3. RAFGLANG
Known for structured designs and meticulous construction, RAFGLANG reshapes military attire in its second collection. Using dark fabrics like denim, canvas, twill, and leather, designer Patrick Rafael Galang deconstructs traditional menswear to tailor functional yet fashion-forward clothes for women.
4. Abdul Gaffar
Hailing from Iligan City, Abdul Gaffar fuses Filipiniana styles and Maranao designs in a one-of-a-kind contemporary collection. To refashion traditional Filipino attire, he teams locally woven materials such as jusi and piña with suiting materials and incorporates langkit, okit, and other Maranao motifs into the look.
5. Mich Dulce
Mich Dulce’s newest lineup is all about timeless silhouettes rendered in earth tones and unique fabrics, including her signature t’nalak and piña. Fun fact: This elegant collection also marks the designer’s return to the runway after 15 years!
6. Chris Nick
Tuxedo and denim are the two main focal points of Chris Nick’s runway presentation. Consisting of micro mini skirts, statement tees, and structured blazers, the day-to-night collection gleans inspiration from vintage Western influences without losing the designer’s characteristic sultry rock and roll edge.
