The fashion industry is turning over a new leaf. More and more brands have been joining in the effort to eliminate the use of fur in their collections. Many are also making great strides in using recycled plastic in products, taking part in the larger campaign towards sustainable living.
Among these brands, Prada is the latest to join the fur-free production ,which they announced last May 2019. Following this, they have also launched a new line that supports the recycling venture. They partnered with textile yarn producer Aquafil to produce econylon, a material made from "recycling and purification process of plastic waste collected from oceans, fishing nets, and textile fiber waste."

Brands Who Use Recycled Plastic
Prada
Prada just launched Project #PradaReNylon, which aims to convert all virgin nylon Prada bags into recycled nylon by 2021.
Adidas
Adidas has partnered with Parley for the Oceans, an organization that works in saving the oceans, to create a line of shoes made from upcycled plastic collected from the beach. They have also pledged to use only recycled plastics by 2024.
Stella McCartney
After her collaboration with Adidas, British designer Stella McCartney has continued using recycled materials in her own clothing line. She is one of the pioneering designers who have taken the moral stand of not using leather, fur, and plastic in making her garments.
Burberry
With Riccardo Tisci at the helm of this storied fashion house, Burberry saw major changes in production. They've vowed to eliminate the use of plastic by 2025 and their move against the use of fur in their collections.
Patagonia
Patagonia has long been using recycled plastic in their products. In fact, they have been in the recycling game since 1993! They also buy old Patagonia products to recycle and be made into new ones.
Nike
According to their site, Nike has been making their Flyknit shoes from 100% recycled polyester.
Timberland
Timberland is determined to produce PVC-free shoes by 2020 and they have actually hit this target. All Timberland shoes are plastic-free.

Meghan Markle's fave sneaker brand makes use of upcycled plastic materials and even biodegradable shoes made from corn waste!
H&M
H&M has signed the New Plastics Economy Global Commitment, a pledge to "eradicate plastic waste and pollution at the source." This pact involves a three-pronged act from the companies. One, the eliminatation of single use and unnecessary plastic packaging. Two, a proactive approach at recycling and reusing existing plastics in circulation. And three, companies must create new methods to reduce plastic waste. Their progress must be published annually and reviewed every 18 months.
