The actress retreated from the spotlight back in 2018 when she faced major tax evasion charges from her home country. She remained under the radar until she addressed the allegations in October of that year, assuring onlookers that the case was settled. "It's a tough process, but you learn a lot of new things... For me, it was a very good experience in retrospect. Everything's fine with me now," she stated.
Since then, Fan has returned to acting in films and TV shows, both in China and in the States. One of her most recent works is The 355, a film she starred in alongside Penelope Cruz and Lupita Nyong'o.
