When it comes to making a fashionable statement, best believe that Filipino creatives will step up their game. From Shaira Luna’s signature vintage ensembles to BJ Pascual’s minimalist but chic style, we’ve curated a selection of creatives who stylishly arrived at the Marriott Grand Ballroom at Newport World Resorts for the Preview Ball 2024. Custom pieces were worn by friends like photographer Alan Segui in a deconstructed double-breasted suit by Lynus and Marj Maroket in a classic A-Line dress designed by Happy Andrada.
Meanwhile, others opted for off-the-rack ensembles like photographer BJ Pascual, with his silk coordinates from Prada, and designer Jaggy Glarino with a Gucci x Balenciaga coat. Apart from that, there were various looks that definitely explored the colors of nude during the ball, giving us a parade of inventive attires throughout the night.
The dress code was open to all interpretations. There were those who went for the classic and minimalist route, like Shaira Luna with her nude-and-black outfit that had cutouts around the top. Meanwhile, there was a majority who went bold, such as Yana Kalaw, who designed her own look inspired by the '80s punk scene. Model Mika Reins channeled a woodland nymph for her take on "nude" dressing with a Kenneth Chua look from Prestado, courtesy of stylist Rex Atienza.
Photographer Andrea Genota, meanwhile, wore Sassa Jimenez for a second year in a row. "I just gave her the brief [on the theme]. She always knows I'm a hubadera, so I'm naked and sparkly," she told Preview.
Director Samantha Lee, musician and Best Dressed 2024 honoree Jason Dhakal, and Preview's September cover artist Jethro Ian Lacson were just a handful of the numerous creatives who attended the Ball, clad in their most authentically fashionable 'fits.
