For his Spring/Summer 2025 lineup, designer Chris Nick unveils a collection showcasing his sleek tailoring. This season, he draws inspiration from Tom of Finland, exploring themes of sensuality through classic tuxedos, tailored cuts, and glints of glamour. His muse, actress-model Pam Prinster, embodies the spirit of the collection: bold, daring, and undeniably sexy.
In this exclusive interview, the Preview Best Filipino Fashion Designer (BFFD) 2023 awardee delves into the collection’s inspiration, craftsmanship, and his vision for chic sophistication.
Preview Exclusive: Chris Nick on His Spring/Summer 2025 Collection
What are the main design elements in your collection? Are there any specific fabrics, materials, motifs, silhouettes, or colors that defined your collection?
"I wanted to keep things streamlined, as per usual. It’s the classic Chris Nick silhouette and why fix something that’s not broken? Tuxedos, of course, are present throughout as they're my favorite article of clothing and I don’t think that’s ever going to change. That goes with black—the color black has been the epitome of who I am as a person and as an artist."
What methods or crafting techniques did you use to construct your pieces? How long did it take to complete this collection?
"I was given about three weeks to complete the whole collection, a similar timeline given to me when I did my LAFW show in 2022."

What makes this collection particularly unique from your past collections?
"It explores sex a lot more, another theme you see in every collection of mine. This season was inspired by Tom of Finland, one of my most favorite artists ever to the point that I dress like his work. You’ll see themes of BDSM but in a tasteful way around the waist, the neck, and the cuff. There’s a thin line when something sensual goes a little too much, and this is the perfect balance."
Could you share with us why Pam Prinster was chosen as the muse for this collection?
"Apart from being a good friend of mine, she embodies some aspects of the Chris Nick brand. She’s young, she has attitude, she’s confident, she’s out there and she’s not afraid to have fun and be herself. I hate when girls are so sweet and frigid, there’s nothing real about that, I’m not buying it and see right through it."
What specific message do you wish to convey through this collection? How do you want others to feel after seeing your work?
"That simplicity and understated elegance will always win above all and that sex always sells. I want to veer away from the commercial scene that’s so evident in Manila. I don’t think people really know what 'chic' really means here."
Can you share any fun facts or unknown trivia about any of your pieces?
"That the tailored pieces (blazers and pants) are all in my measurements. I found that it’s the perfect—just right—oversized measurement for my desired female figure and the perfect low-waisted bottom."
