To say that Seo A-ri's ascent to fame wasn't an easy one would be putting it lightly. In her pursuit to become the top fashion influencer in Netflix's K-drama Celebrity, getting past the one-million-follower mark certainly didn't come cheap—in fact, one dress almost cost her her entire life's savings (and eventually, her life itself). Yes, we're talking about the dress that started it all!
LOOK: Saint Laurent's Tweed Dress in Netflix's K-Drama "Celebrity"
If you're done binge-watching the entire series, then you're already familiar with the story. But if you have yet to catch up, you might want to look away now. Let's just say Seo A-ri, played by Park Gyu Young, ended up wearing a very expensive frock that resulted in her being in the center of everyone's attention at a VIP party, including Kang Min Hyuk's character, CEO Han Ju-kyung.
The fancy dress in question is a cream-hued tweed blazer from Saint Laurent. She teamed the exquisite piece from the French luxury fashion house with a sequined bucket bag from Zara and a pair of black platform pumps from Christian Louboutin. Suffice to say, it was a look that turned heads! In a shocking turn of events, however, someone dared to spill red wine all over our leading lady, resulting in an irreparable stain on the dress that almost cost her a fortune.
Eventually, it's revealed that the real owner of the dress is Yoon Si-hyeon (Lee Chung Ah), whose take on the look leaned towards a more classic approach. In contrast to Seo A-ri's edgy glam style, her version was all about refined and understated elegance, featuring white pointy-toed pumps and a Dior Caro handbag.
SHOP: The Exact Saint Laurent Tweed Dress in Netflix's K-Drama "Celebrity"
Want to create your own take on the look, too? Unfortunately, it's not entirely fiction when the top influencers in Celebrity pointed out that the piece is a limited-edition from Saint Laurent and is quite hard to come by. The exact dress featured in the drama has feathered cuffs and the tweed fabric has a noticeable sheen to it. There's also a satin bow detail at the back. According to Seo A-ri's internet sleuthing, it costs 12.5 million KRW, which converts to over P530,000.
That said, not all hope is lost because a retail version does exist—although it goes without saying that if you really want your hands on it, it will still cost you a pretty penny. While the dress is mostly sold out online, the good news is we did come across an available piece on the e-commerce website of Browns, a UK-based luxury boutique, where it retails for €4,603 or approximately P280,000. It's still up for grabs if you want it, but as of writing, there's only one item of it left, so make haste!
