At the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, the Australian actress first donned a sparkling gold ensemble, which made a stunning encore on another red carpet–this time, at the 2025 Golden Globes.

With a Best Actress nomination for her performance in the Apple TV+ miniseries Dispatch, Cate Blanchett arrived at the 82nd Golden Globe Awards at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, complementing the much-coveted trophy in a shimmering, golden-hued custom piece from Louis Vuitton.
Akin to liquid gold, the bodice’s bubble hem flowed into its skirt’s draped silhouette, which trickled onto the red carpet floor. Cate was first spotted wearing the eye-catching frock at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival for the premiere of her film Rumors, but the dress’ award season iteration features a few differences. The gown’s round neckline is adorned with added intricate golden beads and crystals, meticulously hand-embroidered by Louis Vuitton’s Artistic Director of Women’s Collections, Nicolas Ghesquière, as confirmed by stylist Elizabeth Stewart on Instagram.
While the actress opted for a fluffier updo for her Cannes appearance, hairstylist Nicola Clarke styled Cate’s short tresses in a sleek chin-length bob, with its blonde hue in natural harmony with the gold of her gown for the night.
This isn’t the first time the Dispatch actress appeared on the red carpet in a familiar frock. The star has previously attended red carpet events donning recycled pieces, including the likes of reworked Versace and Giorgio Armani dresses, as well as a Maison Margiela gown at the 2023 BAFTAs, which she wore at the 2015 Academy Awards.
