Preview Exclusive: Cora and Cecilia on Creating BINI's Crochet Outfits
Hi Cora and Cecilia! Congratulations on creating such beautiful crochet outfits for BINI! Could you tell us about the concept and inspirations behind the designs?
“Artsy, cute, fun, and floral were the concepts for the designs since BINI's overall persona resembles their colorful personalities. Blooms and colors were the main inspiration for the entire set.”

You mentioned on Facebook that the process took four sleepless nights. Could you walk us through the journey of bringing these pieces to life?
“BINI's stylist Ms. Ica Villanueva reached out to us to make the whole collection. It was a fun [and] crazy ride. Our mom even helped us weave the ends so we can beat the deadline. It was also a great bond for the entire team. [We were] cooking midnight snacks while learning from each other, and the crazy ideas for the designs also came in [the] last minute.
“We had one goal [which was] to make different styles, but it should look cohesive at the same time.”

What were some of the challenges you encountered throughout the process?
“We had a deadline to beat, so [we were] given only five days to pull everything off. It was a bit crazy. The good thing is that everyone on the team brought their 100 percent talents to the table.”
To you and the team, what does it mean to have a girl group like BINI wear your creations?
“It means so much to us. It feels so surreal every time public figures or celebrities wear our brand. It feels like we’re checking off bucket lists every time. And for these artists to support local artists and brands like ours is another level of achievement [for our team].”

Can you share a fun fact about the outfits you made for BINI?
“Since our brand has been known for our floral, colorful designs, Ms. Ica told us to go all-out and to give our own touch to each piece. We only had two days [left] to make the sketches and designs, and the rest was all creative magic I guess [laughs].”
