Everyone’s been hanging onto the edge of their seats since the first behind-the-scenes pictures of Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling on the set of Barbie was first leaked in June. Finally, after a 10-month long wait, we got the full trailer of Greta Gerwig’s Barbie movie and it’s so much better than anything we could have imagined.

The trailer had us feeling all kinds of nostalgia. But it was the opening scene where Barbie stepped out of her shoes only for her feet to stay in that signature Barbie doll position that really sent the internet into a frenzy.

“Why was this the most genius shot I’ve ever seen,” said one netizen.
“I haven’t gasped in astonishment at a single shot like this from any superhero movie since 2004,” another one tweeted.
The shot even sparked a whole debate about whether or not the movie should’ve done a designer tie-in.
However, most netizens seemed to agree that it wasn’t necessary since the costume design already looked perfect.
And we honestly have zero complaints either. We suppose the only thing that’s on our minds, and probably on yours too (seeing that you clicked on this article), is how can we get our hands on a pair of those shoes.
ICYDK, the shoes were custom-made by the brilliant Oscar-winning costume designer Jacqueline Durran. That means we’ll never be able to find the exact pair she’s wearing in the shot.
