We've got some good news for you, and while it's not a sequel to Maria Clara at Ibarra, we're sure you'll be just as happy to know that GMA's hottest love team, Barbie Forteza and David Licauco, is set to star in one of the biggest historical action-drama series of 2024 titled Pulang Araw.
The story conference for Pulang Araw was held last night, where Barbie, together with David, Alden Richards, and Sanya Lopez, discussed the storyline and the different roles each actor will be playing. We’re just as excited as you are for this new show to come out, but in the meantime, can we talk about what a total stunner Barbie was in her white and red outfit?

Barbie was a show-stealer at the story conference, clad in the daintiest white dress with red heart beading. She was dressed by her longtime friend and stylist, Janra Raroque, who revealed in an exclusive interview with Preview that the dress is a reference to the Japanese flag.
“Barbie and I chose to do Method Dressing for her new role as Adelina by referencing the Japanese Flag,” said Janra.
FYI, Pulang Araw will be set during the Japanese occupation and the World War 2 era in our country. Barbie will play the role of Adelina, a bodabil star, while David will play the part of Hiroshi, a Japanese soldier.
Janra shared that he went to Bangkok to source the outfit for the story conference and fell in love with this particular piece. “I thought that the dress is very fitting for the new show while maintaining the style codes for the Barbie brand,” he shares, and we couldn’t agree more!
Finishing off her look, Janra paired the dress with a set of red Louis Vuitton pointy-toed pumps and heart-shaped accessories from the local jewelry brand Klad. Her hair and strawberry girl makeup, which went perfectly with the red accents of her outfit, were courtesy of Fatima Mercado.
