Following a five-year hiatus, Bang Pineda is finally back on the runway.
On the evening of June 5, Wednesday, the Makati Stock Exchange Plaza came alive with his massive 50-piece showcase. Entitled the "State of Bang," the stylist-designer lets us in on his "current state of mind," where his deep affection for the ocean, tennis, and the city of Paris takes center stage.
“Since part of my inspiration is Paris, and I've been attending fashion shows abroad in Milan, Paris, and New York, I wanted to bring a similar experience of international fashion show here to Manila,” Bang says in a press statement. And true to his vision, the star-studded cast to the visually captivating production of the show, this momentous comeback collection took spectators on an immersive and visually stimulating experience.

Following the show's success in Manila, Bang now has his eyes set on entering the global stage. His first stop? Paris, the fashion capital of the world. “We will have an exhibition in Paris after the [Manila] fashion show. Our end goal is to become an international brand,”he revealed in a press statement.

LOOK: Bang Pineda's "State of Bang" Features a 50-Piece Comeback Collection
In his latest collection, Bang Pineda demonstrates his mastery of tailored streetwear and menswear. This time, he adds playful twists to the classic suit—oversized buttons, creatively placed belts, and chic draped detailing cascading from suit jackets.
The 20-minute showcase unfolded in three acts. The first act celebrated Bang's love for the ocean, featuring nautical-inspired hues and motifs. Alongside navy blue suits and ocean-themed designs, this segment also highlighted structured denim pieces, a hallmark of his signature style.

In the second act, Bang puts a spotlight on his love of tennis. To fully realize this vision, Bang takes on a more maximalist approach by injecting tennis balls throughout the looks. Beyond the typical streetwear and menswear, this series notably involved womenswear apparel too, which included the instantly recognizable '60s tennis dress silhouette, as well as a ruched maxi body con dress in a classic dove grey hue.

A fitting finish to the show, Bang Pineda takes us to the streets of Paris, France. Embodied through a series of dark-colored and impeccably tailored suits, the designer captured the nonchalant yet sophisticated essence of Parisian life, bringing its charm to the heart of Makati City.
