When it comes to red carpet fashion, Anya Taylor-Joy is also an ace. But are we even surprised? The actress of The Queen’s Gambit fame has been turning heads and making photographers pop their cameras on burst since her Golden Globe and Emmy nominations for her hit Netflix series. With her model-worthy looks and distinct otherworldly gaze, who wouldn’t want to dress up the star in high fashion frocks when the opportunity arose?
Luckily for us onlookers, the Venice Film Festival blessed us with another memorable style moment from the 25-year-old star. ICYDK, the internet dubbed her as the “Real Life Barbie” since her stint on Saturday Night Live—and it looks like she’s taken the nickname to heart.
For the premiere of her new film Last Night in Soho, Anya channeled a vintage Barbie doll in a hot pink Dior haute couture dress with a matching woven beret. The mid-length frock featured a geometric square neckline and a belted waist with an oversized bow that draped down her hip. To keep to the monochromatic color palette, her sharp stilettos were also in the same flirty highlighter hue. Being a Tiffany & Co. muse, Anya finished off her look with a diamond leaf necklace that wrapped around her clavicles like a wreath.
But it wasn’t the first time the actress opted to wear pink at the festival that week. She actually arrived in a pastel look for a photocall wearing a printed silk dress and robe from Rodarte. A stark contrast to her red carpet look, but still keeping to that retro direction—although this time it was an ode to the '70s not '40s.
Who wouldn't want to wear pink every day if it looked that good on you?
