Last week, Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway graced the Bvlgari Aeterna High Jewelry show in Rome dressed in a chic, understated white dress. With the Roman jeweler's Infinite Chase necklace adorning her visage and a white croc skin Serpenti Forever Top Handle bag in hand, the global A-lister donned a floor-length shirt dress with a matching sheer corset layered underneath.

Much to the surprise of the internet's fashion folk, Anne's all-white number was actually a custom look by Zac Posen, the creative director of American apparel brand GAP. And a week after the actress' memorable red carpet appearance, the brand announced that it would make the dress available online in limited quantities.
The GAP White Poplin Shirtdress, As Seen on Anne Hathaway
Originally a custom look for the actress, GAP's white poplin shirtdress was released on their official website last Wednesday, May 29. Priced at $158 or about P9,200, stocks naturally ran out just within an hour!
According to their official Instagram page, the shirtdress' construction lifts inspiration from Audrey Hepburn's iconic film, Roman Holiday. Infused with a modern sensibility, central to GAP's DNA, the shirtdress elevates the brand's signature white collared shirt by "mimicking the construction of the shirt’s collar and placket." True enough, this was evident in the frock's darted torso and wide, off-the-shoulder neckline.

Since the white poplin shirtdress quickly sold out, there's been no word on a restock yet. However, with the comments section of GAP's Instagram posts being flooded with requests for more, let's stay tuned and see what happens!
