Global sportswear giant Adidas is constantly releasing new designs, but 'The Three Stripes' is perhaps best known for their classic styles like the Stan Smith and the Continental 80. Another popular silhouette any sneakerhead would recognize in an instant is the Superstar—one of Adidas' best-selling sneakers. Recognizable thanks to its signature bulky shape, thick side stripes, and shell toecap, the sneaker was first manufactured in 1969 as a basketball shoe. Fifty one years later, the style continues to be a streetwear and athleisure fave. In fact, Adidas recently revamped the classic kicks with a sleek new design: the Superstar Pure Sneakers are a minimalist's dream shoe!
The pair features the same bulky construction, leather finish, thick sole, and textured toecap as the OG. However, this style sheds the Superstar's outer perforations as well as its thick side stripes—most commonly worn in black and arguably the sneaker's most recognizable feature. A bold move for Adidas, and yet the classic style remains unmistakable. The result is a crisp, no-frills, all-white shoe, finished off with the word "superstar" embossed onto the heel in metallic gold. We're head over heels! Or...er, head over sneaks?
Feast your eyes:
If you're a fan of black sneakers, the pair is also available in a chic black design, though it maintains its thick ivory sole.

The Superstar Pure Shoes are available for P7000. We'll keep this gorgeous pair on our wish lists for now—at least until shopping is a viable option in the Metro once more.
